Engi is one of the leading, well-reputed and award winning sustainability professionals in the region recognized among the industry’s elite clients, local authorities, professionals and her team, and has been conferred as one of the 50 Most Impactful Smart Cities Leaders (Global Listing) in 2018 and was awarded the Sustainability Professional of the Year 2018 by the Gulf Sustainability and CSR as well as the Middle East Architect Engineer of the Year 2017 (highly commended) to name a few.
She specialized as a passionate sustainability professional and led a series of first sustainable projects in the UAE and award winning projects throughout the UAE, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. Sustainable design to her is a way of life. It’s not a job but a passion that grows with her every day. She joined Dewan Architects and Engineers in May 2010 as an Architect and committed Dewan to sustainability starting 2011 and formally established Dewan’s Sustainability Department in 2013 with an aim to contribute positively to the environment. As a Sustainability Manager, she successfully delivered over 60 green building projects and introduced the concept of integrative process in the company to ensure that sustainability goals and visions at both a Project and Corporate level are met. In addition, she has been actively involved in public conferences and publications to share her knowledge and expertise with the general public and associated field professionals and has become a profound figure within the industry gaining their esteem respect and raising the bar of the company to the upmost sustainability standards.
She strives to minimize the environmental impact produced by buildings and this is demonstrated by offsetting 48 thousand tons of carbon equivalence, 63 million MWh of energy savings, 75 million gallons of water savings and is achieving the highest levels of indoor environmental quality that leads to reduced medical concerns for the building tenants.”
