Award category: Woman in Leadership of the Year

This award honours the outstanding achievements and the work done by an established woman in the construction industry who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and has brought about a positive impact for the industry.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Female professional working in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region
  • Nominee must have 15+ years of work experience in the construction industry
  • Nominee must hold a senior position for at least 4 years within technical leadership or strategic management positions
  • Job titles: Area manager and upwards

WHO CAN SUBMIT NOMINATIONS?

  • Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged
  • Colleagues, peers or businesses may nominate more than one individual
  • Past winners and finalists, and ambassadors are welcome to apply
  • Please do not submit your nominations for the same individual (or yourself) more than once, if multiple entries are received, only the most recent entry will be considered - older entries will be deleted

A SUCCESSFUL ENTRY MUST INCLUDE

  • A comprehensive and fully completed entry form
  • A clear mention and description of:
    • The nominee’s achievements
    • How has the nominee excelled within the area she operates
    • How has the nominee promoted gender balance
    • How has the nominee demonstrated leadership skills
    • Any and all initiatives taken by the nominee to improve the business
  • Recommendation letters (minimum 2) from team members, business stakeholders, and/or clients supporting the display of exemplary leadership skills by the nominee, not older than 1 April 2019
  • Information about mentorship activities and/or speaking engagements, not older than 1 April 2019, if any
  • Evidence of industry awards/recognition received, not older than 1 April 2019, if any

ENTRIES WILL BE EVALUATED BY THE JURY ON

  • Quality and originality of the submission – not on quantity of nominations
  • Achievements and experience, including clearly outlining the scope of work, achievements and leadership qualities displayed by the nominee
  • Mentorship efforts to younger professionals, women and teams to advance within their careers
  • Role model qualities, illustrating how the nominee displays potential to act as a role model for other women in the business
